Staff praised by partner of cancer patient

Devon Doctors has received a lovely email from a lady whose husband was diagnosed with cancer on Christmas Eve.

The lady wrote: “I just want to say ‘thank you’ to everyone connected with your service.

“My partner was diagnosed with myeloma on Christmas Eve and spent Christmas and New Year in hospital due to kidney involvement and pain control [myeloma bone disease].

“Since his discharge, I have had to use your service twice due to him becoming unwell on two consecutive weekends.

“The service we have received has been wonderful and was a tremendous help in coping with our new situation, both in dealing with medical problems and providing reassurance.

“Because we live in a rural area of North Devon and can sometimes feel cut off, this service is invaluable.

“Thanks to all of you, receptionists and doctors alike, as well as all those who work behind the scenes.”
