Dr Bruce Hughes, Non-Executive Director and Chair
Bruce is a full-time GP in Barnstaple and has been on the Devon Doctors’ board since 1996. He is also medical director of Little Bridge House, a branch of Children’s Hospice South West, and on the board of Devon Local Medical Committee.
Dr Justin Geddes, Chief Executive
Justin graduated from Leicester Medical School in 1999. A GP in Honiton, he is also a GP trainer and honorary lecturer at Exeter Medical School. Justin has particular interests in urgent care and education. He combines working in his Honiton surgery with his role as chief executive.
Dr Mark Eggleton, Medical Director
Mark has been a GP in Tavistock since 2001 and worked as an out-of-hours clinician for Devon Doctors since 2004. He devotes two days a week to his role as medical director and three days to his practice, while continuing to work regular out-of-hours shifts. Mark's other main interest is pre-hospital trauma care, which often sees him providing medical cover at weekend equestrian events.
Dr Mike Slot, Non-Executive Director, East and Mid Devon
Mike rejoined the Devon Doctors’ board in March 2010, having previously been chairman of the Wakley Out-Of-Hours Co-operative. Mike is a full-time GP in Sidmouth and a member of the Devon Local Medical Committee.
Dr Peter Holley, Non-Executive Director, South Hams and West Devon
Peter qualified in 1990. He divides his time between being a locum GP and OOH work. Prior to this, Peter, who is the adult safeguarding lead for Teignbridge, was a GP and trainer in the South Hams.
Dr Andy Potter, Non-Executive Director
Andy trained in Bristol and is now happily settled in Plymouth, where he works in an inner city practice. He takes a keen interest in the supervision of junior doctors out of hours and has been on the board of Devon Doctors for a decade.
Dr Pip Hayes, Non-Executive Director
Pip, who lives near Exeter and is a salaried GP in Okehampton, has worked for Devon Doctors since 2004. She is committed to the involvement of local GPs in the provision of OOH care and campaigns to raise awareness of climate change as an important health issue. She also has a particular interest in sustainable human numbers.
Dr Trevor Avis, Non-Executive Director
Trevor has been a full-time GP in Paignton since 2000 and has worked regularly for Devon Doctors since 2003. He is also an elected member of Devon LMC and an Honorary Clinical Fellow at the Peninsula Medical School. Trevor has many interests, including urgent care and, in particular, its interface with day-to-day General Practice.
