• OPS-0276 - Driver OA, Barnstaple

    £8.82 per hour + enhancements

    An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Integrated Urgent Care Service to recruit a Driver/Operational Assistant based at our Barnstaple Treatment Centre.

    The non-clinical role requires you to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team speaking to patients, carers and healthcare professionals who require urgent healthcare advice and support during the out of hours period. You are required to have excellent logistical and organisational skills in order to ensure the co-ordination of workload within the Locality. 

    Roles involve:

    • Checking drugs stock
    • Driving company vehicles to transport GPs and equipment to patients' homes
    • Liaising with our Clinical Assessment Centre, Doctors and Nurses to ensure the smooth running of the service
    • Administration / receptionist-type duties, such as booking patients in on the computer system
    • Other similar duties.

    Candidates must be flexible and able to travel to the place of work during the evenings and weekends.

    Over a 3 week fixed rolling rota, the successful candidate will work 9 shifts in 21 days i.e. 5 mid-week evenings (17:45-23:00 hours); a weekend of ‘early’ shifts (07:45-13:00 hours) and a weekend of ‘late’ (13:00-23:00 hours) shifts giving an average of 18.92 hours per week. This role attracts a rate of pay of £8.82 per hour plus enhancements.

    There will be opportunities to pick up extra sessions at appropriate shift / role pay rates to cover for annual leave and sickness.

    The interview process will include an evaluation of keyboard and communication skills plus an assessment to demonstrate decision making skills and geographical knowledge.
